Washroom video case: BJP MLAs of DK, Udupi meet Governor; urge for SIT probe

Mangaluru, Aug 05, 2023: BJP MLAs of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts met State Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot at Rajbhavan in Bengaluru on August 4, Friday and submitted a memorandum to him urging for a SIT probe into the Udupi washroom video incident at a private college.

 

The delegation of MLAs was led by MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary and included Mangaluru North MLA Bharath Shetty, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Sullia MLA Bhagirathi Murulya, Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole, Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik and Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty.

The memorandum stated that the government was not showing interest in ordering a SIT probe with regard to an incident that had the potential to cause unrest in the society. The MLAs also suspected a larger conspiracy behind the entire incident.
