Vivekraj wins gold medal in national chess championship

Mangalore, Oct 28, 2012: Vivekraj of Derik’s Chess School won the gold medal in Kendriya Vidyalayas National Chess Championship held in Kanpur from Oct 15 to Oct 20.

Vivekraj won 7 points in eight rounds and pushed himself head and shoulders above Manas of Kerala and Prajwal Shet of Bangalore.

He has now qualified to take part in the National Inter School Chess Championship 2012 – 13, which will be organized by the School Games Federation of India.

Vivekraj studies in Kendriya Vidyaya in Yekkur, Mangalore
