Vittla: Class 10 student’s body found in Gurukula pond

Vittla, Feb 23, 2026: In a tragic incident reported on Monday, the body of a student from Maitreyi Gurukula Educational Institution at Moorkaje near Kodangai was found in the gurukula’s pond.

The deceased has been identified as Vaiga Lakshmi, a Class 10 student and a native of Bengaluru.

It is said that Vaiga Lakshmi had been missing since Sunday (Feb 22). Following a search operation, her body was discovered today in the gurukula pond.

Police from Vittla Police Station visited the spot and are conducting an investigation.

The body was retrieved and shifted to a private hospital in Deralakatte for post-mortem examination.
