Vittal: Man critically injured after being hit by car

Vittal, Aug 8, 2025: A man sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car while standing by the roadside at Partippady in the Vittal police station limits on Friday.

The injured has been identified as Jagannath Shettigar, owner of Pragathi Sweets in Kudtamuger. He was travelling from Kudtamuger towards Partippady when the tyre of his two-wheeler got punctured. He parked the vehicle by the roadside and was standing nearby when a car coming from Puttur towards Salethur rammed into him.

Local residents rushed the seriously injured Shettigar to a private hospital in Deralakatte. His condition is said to be critical. Vittal police visited the spot and collected information.
