Vittal: 2 suffocate to death when installing ring to well

Vittal, April 23, 2024: In a tragic incident, two labourers lost their lives due to lack of oxygen while installing ring to a well at Padibagilu in Kepu village on Tuesday.

 

The deceased are Ibbu alias Ibrahim (40) of Parthippady and Ali (24) of Malar. It is learnt the tragedy occurred when both had entered the well after installing the ring to the 30 feet deep well. When one labourer who had entered the well did not return, another worker went in and both suffocated to death.

The bodies were lifted from the well and have been placed at the mortuary of Vittal Community Hospital. Of the deceased Ibrahim was an expert in installing ring to wells since 20 years.
