Vijayapura-Mangaluru Central Special to run as regular service from Sept. 1

Mangaluru, Aug 14, 2025: The Railway Department has made the Vijayapura–Mangaluru Central Express Special (No. 17377/17378) a permanent service.

The train, which had been suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, resumed operations in December 2021 and has been running between Mangaluru Central and Vijayapura since 2024. It was given permanent status in June this year, and the department issued an official notification regarding this on Tuesday.

From September 1, the train will operate permanently from Vijayapura, and from September 2, from Mangaluru Central.

The train will depart Mangaluru Central at 4:45 pm and reach Vijayapura at 11:15 am the next day. From Vijayapura, it will depart at 3:00 pm and reach Mangaluru Central at 9:50 am the following day.
