Vijaya Bank celebrates 83rd Foundation Day

 Mangalore, Oct 26, 2013 : Dr. N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, inaugurated the 83rd Foundation Day celebrations of Vijaya Bank at a function held at the SDM College Auditorium in Mangalore on October 25, Friday.

 

 

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Hegde said Vijaya Bank has contributed significantly to the  growth of the banking sector. He said the bank has won the hearts of crores of customers today thanks to the farsightedness of its Founder President  Attavara Balakrishna Shetty  and Sunder Ram Shetty, the brain behind the establishment of the Bank. “Today, the bank has  registered rapid strides through effective utilization of technology, he said.

Five distinguished customers of the Bank were honoured on the occasion.

Raviraj Shetty, Assistant General Manager, who spoke on the occasion, said the Bank having 1470 branches at present has registered a business of Rs 1,75,000 crores.
