Veteran Yakshagana artiste Sujana Sullia passes away

Sullia, Oct 25, 2025: Veteran Yakshagana artiste and theatre personality Sujana Sullia (Sullia Jayaram Navoor) passed away on Friday morning at a private hospital in Sullia, following age-related illness. He was 89.

He was the father of noted theatre artist Jeevan Ram Sullia and the brother of Yakshagana artiste Pyar Navoor.

Sujana Sullia was known for his versatility in performing various roles in Yakshagana, especially for his exceptional comic performances that brought characters to life. He had been associated with several Yakshagana troupes over the years and performed extensively across the region.
