Vehicle of cattle smugglers meet with accident; miscreants flee

Moodbidri, April 25, 2013 : A  Maruti Swift car transporting a stolen  cattle, hit against a roadside tree and fell into ditch when the miscreants inside the car  tried to escape from the chasing public on April 24, Monday.

It is learnt the miscreants in the car had stolen a grazing cattle in the vicinity and had stuffed it into their vehicle. However, when they tried to steal another cattle, they were noticed by locals.

This forced the miscreants flee in a bid to escape and in the process the vehicle collided against a tree and fell into the ditch. Still, they managed to take to their heels.

Police also found some leaflets seeking votes for JD(S) candidate from Mangalore North,inside the car.

Just a few days ago, as many as four cows were stolen from the cattle shed of one Faustin Sequeira. Even another cow which was given to Faustin by a kind-hearted person was stolen  by cattle thieves.

Locals have urged the police to initiate strict action against cattle thieves.
