Belthangady, Sep 13,2016 : Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala who has pledged his support to the ongoing fight against the injustice done to the state with regard to the Cauvery river water sharing issue, has at the same time urged the activists to resort to peaceful means of protest without causing any damage to private or public properties.
Speaking to reporters at Dharmasthala on September 12, Monday, Heggade said all Kannadigas should unitedly join hands in the fight for the cause and stressed the need for a non-violent means of agitation.
Continuing, Heggade shunned the notion that the people of Dakshina Kannada were not supporting the cause of Cauvery.
At the same time, he pointed out the dearth of water flow in Netravathi river and said though the river used to get flooded at least five to six times during a year in the past, that was not the case now. He also urged people to use water judiciously.
