Vandalism in Ullal : 2 arrested; Section 144 clamped

Mangalore, Feb 5, 2014 :   Section 144 has been clamped in Ullal area following   several incidents of vandalism wherein miscreants  destroyed  boats, vehicles as well as resorted to stone pelting on houses on February 4, Tuesday night. Police have maintained tight security  and have arrested two persons in connection with the incident.

However, the police are yet to reveal their identities.

At least three houses  belonging to Santhavathi, Dharmavathi and Variga were stoned. A car and a bike were  also damaged.  At Kotepura, two boats  were damaged. If one boat by name Chamundeshwari was destroyed, another boat was owned by Kanthi Enterprises.

The incidents  terrified the locals who gathered in front of the police station in the night and staged a protest. Ullal area is tense and the police keeping strict vigil.
