Uppinangady: Police bust fake currency printing unit, seven arrested

Uppinangady, Jul 16, 2026: Uppinangady Police conducted a late-night raid on Wednesday at a location where counterfeit currency was allegedly being printed and arrested seven persons in connection with the case.

The operation was carried out based on credible information that fake currency was being manufactured at Adenja near Korinja in Padmunja of Kaniyoor village.

Police have taken into custody seven accused, including a local resident who allegedly provided the rented building used for printing the counterfeit notes.

During the raid, the police seized partially printed fake currency notes (printed on one side) and the machinery allegedly used for manufacturing the counterfeit currency.
