
Uppinangady, Feb 11, 2026: Police have arrested a man after seizing MDMA from him while he was found standing suspiciously during a daytime patrol in the Panjala area.
On Tuesday (Feb. 10) at around 6:00 p.m., police who were conducting routine patrol rounds detained Yahya Kokkada (48) and questioned him. During interrogation, he reportedly admitted that he was in possession of MDMA with the intention of selling it, police said.
During the mahazar (seizure procedure), officers confiscated 2.16 grams of MDMA (estimated value ₹3,000), one iPhone (₹45,000), and one Samsung keypad mobile phone (₹1,000), totaling ₹49,000 in value.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Uppinangady Police Station under Crime No. 19/2026, under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway.
