Uppinangady: Following infant’s death; woman complains against husband

Uppinangady, July 04, 2023: A woman has lodged a complaint with the Uppinangady police suspecting her husband’s role in the death of her eight month old child. The child who was reportedly ill had died in the hospital.

 

Jeevith, the child of Sridhar Naika and Chitra couple of 34 Nekkilady village Santhyadka was admitted to Wenlock Hospital as he was suffering from high fever. However the baby had died on July 1.

On July 2, Chitra lodged a complaint suspecting her husband’s role behind the death of the baby. Chitra in her complaint has said that she had told her husband that she along with the kid who was suffering from fever would go to her parental home, but he pushed her and that she fell along with the child. Following this the baby’s fever increased, she said adding there is a possibility that the baby might have also died after he fell down.

Police have questioned Sridhar Naika in this case. The post-mortem report is yet to be out.
