Uppinangady: Car crashes into road divider; driver killed, three injured

Uppinangady, Jun 11, 2026: A 21-year-old man was killed and three others sustained serious injuries after the car they were travelling in crashed into a road divider at Gadiyara near Mani on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Lakshmikanth (21), a resident of Sakleshpur. The injured, identified as Ranjith, Darshan, and Shobha, all from the Sakleshpur region, were admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

According to the police, the accident occurred while they were travelling towards Sakleshpur. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to a technical malfunction, causing the car to ram into the divider.

A case has been registered at the Puttur Traffic Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
