Uppinangady: Bus driver assaulted and robbed by bike-borne duo; police launch probe

Uppinangady, Oct 24, 2025: A bus driver returning home after work was allegedly attacked and robbed by two men on a bike at Alekki in Ilanthila village under the Uppinangady police limits on Thursday night.

The victim, identified as Maxim Pinto (47), a private bus driver from Kokkada village, stated in his complaint that while returning home from Bandaru via Mura road, two helmet-clad men followed him on a bike, blocked his way at Alekki, assaulted him, and snatched about ₹4,000 in cash.

Uppinangady police have registered a case and begun investigations after conducting a spot inspection.
