Uppinangady : 8 students among 9 injured in auto-lorry collision

 Puttur, Mar 22, 2013  :  A total of nine persons including eight students sustained injuries in a collision between an autorickshaw and a lorry near the Uppinangady-Hirebandadi cross on the National Highway 175 on March 21, Thursday morning.

 The autorickshaw was  proceeding from Hirebandadi while the unregistered lorry was heading towards Uppinangady from Bangalore.


The injured are Tasrifa, Saima, Zahir, Zahin, Ashwina, students of St Philomena High School, Uppinangady,  Sriyan,  a student of Government Model Primary School,  Rakshith of St MaryEnglish Medium school, Fathimath Shifa of Indraprastha School and autorickshaw driver Khasim.


Two of the seriously injured students namely Rakshith and Fathimath Shifa have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore. The rest are undergoing treatment  in hospitals at Puttur and Uppinangady.


Puttur traffic police have registered a case.
