University College Hijab row : Two Muslim students given NOC, another gets TC

Mangaluru, June 23, 2022: Two Muslim girl students of the University College in Mangaluru who  have been  insisting that they be allowed to wear Hijab in the classroom have  taken an NOC from the College  to join other colleges where Hijab is permitted. Meanwhile, another student has been issued a Transfer Certificate.

It may be recalled here that three students had held a press meet questioning the decision of the college management  against permitting Hijab. One of them has  written an apology letter to the college and is presently attending online classes.

Meanwhile, another Muslim girl student who pursues MSc Chemistry has also taken transfer certificate  on health grounds.

The NOC given by the college will allow the Muslim students to seek admission to other colleges and once their admission is done, they will get Transfer certificate.
