Union Minister Milind Deora assures to extend broadband services to all villages

Mulki, Sep 11, 2013 : Union Minister of State for IT, Communications and Shipping Milind Deora has said that the   Government was committed to provide high quality  Broadband  Internet services in rural areas across the nation in order to  extend the benefits of IT to the villages.

He was speaking to reporters after visiting the Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple at Mulki Bappanadu on September 10, Tuesday. He also mooted steps to develop New Mangalore Port so that more ships can call on the  port. He said  the government  would encourage coal imports  and commercial exports. On this occasion, the minister said the Aadhaar card issuing process will be done through post officers too.

 State Minister for Youth Services Abhayachandra Jain who was present, requested the Union minister to set up a postal circle office in Mangalore.

The Union Minister, was also honoured on behalf of the temple on the occasion. He was accompanied by his wife and father-in-law Manmohan Shetty of Adlabs.

Mulki Panchayat President Shashikanh Shetty, Vice President Yogish Kotian and others were present.
