Unidentified miscreants stone mosque at Montepadavu in Konaje

Mangalore, Mar 17, 2014: In an act that caused panic at Montepadavu in Konaje police station limits, a mosque in the area was  stoned by some unidentified miscreants late night on March 15, Saturday.

The window panes of the Al Madrasatul Badriya Mosque were shattered due to stoning. A nearby resident who rushed out of his house on hearing the sound, found the window panes of the mosque broken. He immediately alerted the mosque authorities who lodged a complaint with the Konaje police.

Locals say they had seen some men  moving around in the area in bikes  earlier and express suspicion over them.

R Hithendra, Mangalore Police Commissioner, Konaje SI Gopalakrishna and  ACP Pawan Nejoor have visited the mosque. Even local MLA and state health minister UT Khader visited the mosque and requested the police to thoroughly investigate the case and arrest the miscreants.
