Ullal: Shop gutted in lightning strike

Mangaluru, July 11, 2023: A shop at Ranipura in Munnur village was gutted in a fire mishap due to a lightning strike during the wee hours of July 11, Tuesday.

 

The shop located in front of Ranipura Church, belonged to Peter. The family of Peter was fast asleep when the lightning struck. A passerby who noticed the fire alerted the family members. Fire tender vehicles which rushed to the spot doused the fire.

Grocery items, three refrigerators and various other goods worth lakhs have been gutted in the fire. The house and shop were in the same building. Even the walls of the building have developed cracks.
