Ullal: Scooter skids, crashes into compound wall; rider dies

Ullal, Aug 13, 2025: A scooter that skidded and went out of control crashed into the compound wall of a roadside house, killing the rider, in an incident that occurred on Ambika Road, within the Someshwara Town Municipal limits, on the night of August 12.

The deceased has been identified as Raghavendra Salyan, also known as Raghu (44), a resident near Mahalakshmi Temple in Pilaru, under the Someshwara Town Municipal area. He was working as an electrical contractor for a private company.

The accident took place near Nirmala Travels garage on Ambika Road while Raghavendra was returning home after work that night. His head struck the compound wall during the impact, causing severe bleeding.

As there was a delay in the arrival of the ambulance, local youths rushed the injured Raghavendra to a private hospital in Deralakatte in an autorickshaw, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Mangaluru South Traffic Police visited the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case. The deceased is survived by his mother, wife, and only son.
