Ullal: Scooter rider succumbs to injuries in a car collision near Beeri

Ullal, January 12, 2026: A young man who was critically injured in a severe collision between a car and a scooter has died after failing to respond to treatment. The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Mahaz Battappadi (24).

On the night of January 5, Muhammad Mahaz had finished his catering work in Mangaluru and was returning to his hometown on his scooter. Near Beeri, a car heading towards Talapady collided with his scooter.

Due to the impact of the collision, Mahaz was thrown onto the road and sustained serious injuries. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte and later shifted to another private hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries late on the night of January 9.

A case has been registered in connection with the incident at the Mangaluru South Traffic Police Station.
