Ullal: Moving Omni car catches fire on NH-66 at Kotekar Adka; driver escapes unhurt

Ullal, Feb 12, 2026: A moving Omni car suddenly caught fire on Thursday afternoon at Kotekar Adka on National Highway 66. The driver narrowly escaped after a motorist traveling behind him alerted him about the fire.

Riyaz, a resident of Talapady, had taken delivery of his Omni car from a garage in Adka after repairs. After refuelling the vehicle, he was on his way back to Talapady when smoke began to emanate from the car. Unaware that the vehicle had caught fire, Riyaz continued driving until a motorist behind him noticed the flames and warned him.

Acting swiftly on the warning, Riyaz stopped the vehicle and managed to escape, averting a major tragedy.
