Ullal: Man killed in train mishap near Thokkottu overbridge

Mangaluru, Mar 4, 2026: A 47-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a train near the Thokkottu overbridge in Ullal on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kiran (47), a resident of Kumpala Lakshmigudde. According to initial reports, he was sitting close to the railway track when a passing train struck him.

Railway police personnel rushed to the scene and carried out an inspection. During the preliminary inquiry, a mobile phone was recovered from his pocket.

Using the phone details, police confirmed his identity and informed his family members about the tragic incident.

A case has been registered at the railway police station, and further investigation is in progress.
