Ullal: Kotekar entrepreneur dies in scooter crash

Mangaluru, Aug 8, 2025: A 47-year-old entrepreneur from Kotekar died on the spot after his scooter collided with an electric pole at Sundaribagh on the Thokkotu–Ullal road on Thursday evening.

The deceased, identified as Ibrahim alias Kamal, was a resident of Kotekar and currently living at Mukkacheri. Engaged in the fish trade at Mangaluru’s Bunder area, Ibrahim was returning home from Thokkotu with his son riding pillion when he reportedly lost control of the scooter, leading to the fatal crash.

He sustained grievous injuries and succumbed at the scene. A case has been registered at Mangaluru South Traffic Police Station.

Ibrahim is survived by his wife and three children. Well-known for his cordial nature, his sudden demise drew a large crowd outside Sahara Hospital in Thokkotu.
