Ullal: Illegal stocking, transportation of sand detected

Mangaluru, Aug 24, 2023: Ullal police have detected two cases of illegal stocking of sand and illegal sand transportation. A raid was conducted at a place at Kallaup in Permannur village during the wee hours of August 24, Thursday following a tip off.

 

A pick-vehicle which was used to smuggle sand was seized on the occasion.

In another case, 12 lorry loads of sand which was stocked on the Netravathi river banks at Kotepura was seized.

Local police have informed that a report has been submitted to the Department of Mines and Geology to initiate necessary action.
