
Udupi, aug 17, 2011 : The students of Upendra Pai Memorial College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College organized a protest march on Tuesday under the leadership of the Udupi Zilla Nagarika Samithi in a bid to extend support to Anna Hazare’s movement demanding the immediate implementation of an effective Lokpal Bill and condemning the central government for arresting him.



The protest march, which commenced at MGM College, featured students carrying huge national flags. Saroja, a senior citizen of Udupi, also participated in this procession.
Nithyananda Volakadu, the secretary of the Nagarika Samithi, and student leaders Swathi, Souraj, Karthik, and others also participated in the protest march.
The procession wound its way through MGM College, Kadiyali, Kalsanka, City Bus Stand, and Bannanje before coming to an end at the DC’s office. The students then submitted a memorandum through the DC, demanding the immediate release of Anna Hazare and the implementation of the Lokpal Bill as per his suggestions.
