Udupi-native Indian expat wins Dh20 million Big Ticket jackpot in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Feb 4, 2026: An Indian expatriate from Udupi has struck it rich after winning the Dh20 million grand prize in the Big Ticket draw held in Abu Dhabi.

Shanthanu Shettigar, a native of Udyavar in Udupi district and currently working in the retail sector in Oman, was declared the winner during the live announcement of Big Ticket Series 283. His ticket, bearing number 305810, emerged as the lucky entry in one of the UAE’s most eagerly awaited raffle draws.

The draw, broadcast live, attracted viewers from around the world, highlighting once again the global appeal of the UAE’s longest-running raffle programme.

Reacting to the win, an elated Shettigar said he was overwhelmed by the news and admitted that he was still unsure about how to use the prize money. He also disclosed that the ticket was purchased jointly with a friend and that the winnings would be shared.
