Udupi cops launch Sunset Operation to tackle crimes during night

Udupi, Nov 24, 2021: With the objective of tackling drug menace and other illegal activities and also to ensure safety of women, the Udupi District Police Department has launched a new beat system named "Sunset Operation."

 

This was informed by Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan in an interaction  at the Press Club on November 23, Tuesday.

The Sunset Operation  beat system will be done in sensitive areas of Manipal once a week between 7 pm to 11 pm and will be extended to other places in order to prevent occurrence of crimes during night, the SP said.

He said the Department was making every effort to tackle the traffic problems of Udupi. Regarding cyber crimes, he said the victims must immediately complain to the cyber police and also block their accounts.

The SP released media stickers for vehicles and handed them over to the journalists.
