Udupi celebrates Padma Vibhushan for late Sri Vishwesha Theertha

Udupi, Nov 12, 2021: A warm welcome was accorded to Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt on his arrival in Udupi on November 11,  Thursday after receiving the posthumous Padma Vibhushan Award   conferred on the past pontiff of the Mutt Sri Viswesha Theertha Swamiji, in New Delhi.

 

Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji who arrived at the Sanskrit College was taken upto the Krishna Mutt in a procession featuring a portrait of Sri Viswesha Theertha Swamiji. The Padma Vibhushan Award was placed on the Guru Peetha.

Speaking on the occasion, the Pejawar Seer said while it was a matter of pleasure that Sri Vishwesha Theertha was conferred Padma Vibhushan, there is also an element of sadness as  he is no longer with us to receive the award.

Phalimar seer Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji, Sode Seer Sri Vidya Vallabha Theertha Swamiji, former minister Pramod Madhwaraj, Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat and others were present.
