Udupi: Young Yakshagana artise electrocuted

Udupi, May 14, 2025: A young Yakshagana artiste associated with the Sooralu Mela died of electrocution after a live wire fell over him while he was riding a two-wheeler near Agumbe on Wednesday.

The deceased is Ranjith. He was on way home after a Yakshagana show of the Sooralu Mela scheduled to be held near Koppa was cancelled due to rain.

Vinod Raj, another Yakshagana artiste who was pillion riding the bike was rescued by locals. Though Ranjith who was seriously injured was rushed to hospital, he breathed his last before reaching the hospital.
