Udupi: Yaksha Vidyamanya Award conferred on Puttige Raghurama Holla

Udupi, Apr 4, 2026: The prestigious ‘Yaksha Vidyamanya Award’, presented by Palimaru Matha to distinguished Yakshagana artists, was conferred on noted Tenkutittu Yakshagana Bhagavata Puttige Raghurama Holla on Thursday.

The award was presented by Sri Vidyadheesha Teertha Swamiji of Palimaru Matha during a special programme held on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti at the Palimaru Moola Matha.

Bheemana Katte Matha seer Sri Raghuvarendra Teertha Swamiji and junior pontiff of Palimaru Matha, Sri Vidyarajeshwara Teertha Swamiji, were present on the occasion.

On the same occasion, senior culinary expert Yajnanarayana Bhat was honoured with the ‘Paka Vidyamanya Award’. The Swamiji also blessed the spouses of both awardees by presenting them with traditional sarees.

The award carries a citation, memento, and a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each. Yakshagana Kalaranga secretary Murali Kadekar spoke on the achievements of the awardees.
