Udupi: Woman duped of Rs11.61 lakh in online job scam

Udupi, July 19, 2025: A case has been registered at the Udupi CEN Crime Police Station after a woman was allegedly cheated of Rs11.61 lakh through an online scam.

The victim, identified as Suhasini, reportedly received a message via WhatsApp from an unknown person regarding a job opportunity. She was then sent a link and asked to join a Telegram group. Trusting the offer, she ended up investing a total of Rs11,61,256. However, the accused neither returned the invested amount nor provided any promised profits, thereby defrauding her.
