
Udupi, Aug. 13, 2026: Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of Prince Enterprises owner David D’Souza, who was shot dead at Mudurangady on August 7. The duo allegedly assisted the accused by facilitating money transfers linked to the crime.
David D’Souza was shot dead at around 3.45 p.m. on August 7 at the St Xavier Church Complex in Mudurangady. According to police, the accused arrived at the spot on a motorcycle, and the pillion rider allegedly shot D’Souza in the head with a pistol.
A murder case was registered at Shirva police station, and an investigation was launched. Police had earlier arrested three persons allegedly involved in the murder.
During further investigation, police reportedly found that two more individuals had assisted the accused by facilitating financial transactions connected to the crime.
The arrested persons have been identified as Chirag Poojary (26), a resident of Tenka village in Kapu taluk, and Mohammed Irshad (43), a resident of Yermal Tenka in Kapu taluk.
Both were arrested on August 12. Further investigation is under way.
