Udupi, July 23, 2025: Kota police in Udupi district arrested two persons allegedly involved in theft of cattle from a road in Bidkalkatte on July 19.
The police gave names of the accused as Imran alias Kuttu, 31, of Pudu village in Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada and Irshad, 30, of Ganjimath in Dakshina Kannada district.
The police said the two were seen stealing cows by the side of the road in Bidkalkatte town on July 19. Imran was accused in 35 cases of cattle theft registered in Mangaluru city, Dakshina Kannada and Hassan districts. Irshad was accused in 14 cases of cattle theft registered in Mangaluru city, Dakshina Kannada and Chikkamagaluru districts.
Two more arrested
The Brahmavar police in Udupi district have arrested Muzaffer and Krishna Naika for allegedly stealing cattle from Neerjaddu on July 20. A search is under way for two more persons allegedly involved in the theft, the police said.
