Udupi: Three habitual offenders externed from district

Udupi, Jun 26, 2026: As part of its ongoing drive against rowdyism and organised criminal activities, the Udupi district police have externed three habitual offenders from the district.

The externment orders were issued on June 24 by the Special Executive Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, Udupi, against Mohammed Danish Madani and Karani Muhsin, both under the jurisdiction of the Kundapur Rural Police Station, and Ilyas, who falls under the Shirva Police Station limits.


Three Externed

Mohammed Danish Madani (23), son of Mohammed Iqbal and a resident of Hajuma Manzil, Mavinakatte, Gulvadi village in Kundapur taluk, has eight criminal cases registered against him. A rowdy sheet has also been opened against him at the Kundapur Rural Police Station.

Karani Muhsin (44), son of Karani Ameer and a resident of JM Road, Kandlur, Kavradi village in Kundapur taluk, is involved in seven criminal cases and is also listed as a rowdy offender at the Kundapur Rural Police Station.

Ilyas (36), son of Abubakkar and a resident of Masha Allah, Janata Colony, Chandranagar, Padur village in Kapu taluk, has 15 criminal cases registered against him. A rowdy sheet has been opened against him at the Shirva Police Station.

According to the police, the three accused are collectively involved in 30 criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, attacks on police stations through stone-pelting, house-breaking and theft, cattle theft, cattle slaughter, and assaults linked to rowdy activities.

Under the externment orders, Mohammed Danish Madani has been sent to the jurisdiction of the Shikaripura Town Police Station in Shivamogga district, Karani Muhsin to the Gandhi Ganj Police Station limits in Bidar district, and Ilyas to the Karwar Town Police Station limits in Uttara Kannada district.

The Udupi police said they have intensified action against anti-social elements over the past year. During this period, three persons have been detained under the PIT NDPS Act, four have been booked under the Goonda Act and lodged in prison, while externment orders have been issued against a total of 14 habitual offenders.
