Udupi: Student injured in Padubidri tempo collision succumbs to injuries

Udupi, Dec 1, 2025: A 22-year-old student who had sustained serious injuries after being struck by a tempo in Padubidri has passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The deceased, identified as Preksha from Nadsalu Billitota in Padubidri, was hit by a goods tempo from the Udupi side while she was crossing the service road towards Mangaluru. The impact caused her to fall onto the road, resulting in a severe head injury. Locals immediately shifted her to a nearby hospital for first aid, after which she was moved to a hospital in Mangaluru. A case has been registered at the Padubidri Police Station.

Preksha was a student of Karavali College, Vamanjoor, and was returning home after completing her examination. She belonged to a very poor family and had earlier lost her father. She is survived by her mother and brother.
