Udupi: Skeletal remains of unidentified man found in Ambalpady

Udupi, December 13, 2025: Skeletal remains of an unidentified man were discovered in bushes along the Ambalpady stretch of the National Highway on Thursday.

Upon receiving the information, social worker Vishu Shetty, along with personnel from the Ambalpady police and with the assistance of Ramdas Palan of Udyavara, shifted the remains to the district hospital mortuary.

Preliminary findings indicate that the man may have died some time ago. The matter came to light on December 12, following which Vishu Shetty lodged a complaint at the Udupi Town Police Station.

Police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information if they recognise the deceased from the clothing found at the scene, which included a pair of pants and a shirt.

The exact cause of death will be ascertained after a detailed investigation and medical examination.
