Udupi: Pangolin rescued from well in Hiriyadka

Udupi, June 21, 2025: A pangolin was rescued from a 50 foot deep well in Guddiyangadi of Bommarabettu in Hiriyadka on June 19. The pangolin is suspected to have accidentally fallen into the well. The rescue operation was led by Forest Department with the help of local residents.

As soon as locals realized the pangolin was struggling in the well, a local social worker alerted the Forest personnel who rushed to the spot.

Neeraya Sunil managed to get into the well and rescue the pangolin. The animal was unharmed and was later released in the protected forest.
