Udupi: Padubidri ASI’s daughter dies in car-scooter collision

Udupi, Oct 28, 2025: A young woman, Sparsha (24), daughter of Padubidri ASI Sudesh Shetty, died after succumbing to injuries sustained in a car-scooter collision near the KSRTC Depot in Nittur on October 26.

According to reports, around 8:15 p.m. on October 26, a car driven recklessly by a person named Rakesh, heading from Karavali side towards Santakatte, rammed into a scooter from behind. The scooter was being ridden by Sharmila (49) with her daughter Sparsha (24) as a pillion rider.

The impact threw both riders onto the road. Sharmila sustained injuries to her hand and other parts of her body, while Sparsha suffered severe head injuries. Both were immediately rushed to a private hospital.

However, despite receiving treatment, Sparsha succumbed to her injuries on the morning of October 27.

A case has been registered at the Udupi Traffic Police Station.
