Udupi : Over 250 body builders take part in national championship

Udupi, March 17, 2013: Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puttige Mutt inaugurated the 61st national body-building competition organized by Manjunath Hegde Sports Foundation at Shamili Hall here on March 16, Saturday. The contest was organised in memory of T R Chandrashekar Hegde. Nearly  250 participants took part in various categories like Bharath Kishore (junior), Bharath Kesari (masters), Bharath Uday (novice), Bharath Kumar (youth) and Bharath Shree (seniors).

Udupi SP Dr Boralingaiah, TR Manjunath Hegde, President of India Fitness and Body Builders Foundation, noted  film director Rajendra Singh Babu and others were present.

 The winners are :  Bharath Uday : Manjunath G (Karnataka) ; Bharath Kesari : Ankush Shivram Tervankore (Maharashtra); Bharath Kishore : G Balakrishna (Karnataka);  Senior Category :  Milind Vasanth, Prakash Gawane (Maharashtra), N B Chattri (Madhya Pradesh), Inacio Sanjan (Maharashtra), and Kammu Singh (Madhya Pradesh).

The winners of this even will have the opportunity to represent India at the Asia-Pacific Championship to be held on May 2, and the NAC World Championship at North Cyprus on May 31.
