Udupi: Old school bus gutted in fire

Udupi, December 2, 2025: An old school bus was completely gutted after a fire that began in dry grass spread across the area near Kendriya Vidyalaya in Manipal Alevooru Pragathi Nagar on Monday evening.

The fire, which started in dry grass in the Alevooru Pragathi Nagar locality, quickly spread around the area. An old private school bus parked nearby caught fire and was engulfed in flames.

Local residents, noticing the fire, immediately informed the fire brigade. Firefighters from the Malpe Fire Station rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the blaze. However, the bus was completely burnt to ashes in the incident, sources said.
