Udupi: Middle aged couple commits suicide

Udupi, Nov 12, 2013: In a tragic incident a middle aged couple Ratnakar and his wife Padwavathi allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the well at Nejar near Kallianpur on Tuesday, Nov 12.

Rathnakar(55) and Padmavathi(45) were coolie workers by profession had two children Sunil and Sunitha whose marriage was fixed in January next year. Neighbors have seen the couple at 5pm on Monday evening. Sources revealed that family dispute and poverty must have driven the couple to commit suicide.

The incident came to light in the morning when family members realized that the couple had gone missing.

Malpe Police have registered a case.
