Udupi: Massive fire at Alevoor dumping yard causes heavy damage

Udupi, Oct 4, 2025: A massive fire erupted on Friday at the Alevoor dumping yard, operated by Udupi City Municipality, causing significant damage. The site, where municipal waste is collected and processed, was extensively affected by the blaze.

Fire and emergency personnel, assisted by local residents, battled hard to bring the flames under control.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have started from the waste materials. Although the exact extent of the losses is yet to be assessed, initial reports point to heavy damage.
