Udupi: Masked burglars’ break-in attempt near Kukkikatte caught on CCTV

Udupi, Sep 3, 2025: A gang of masked burglars attempted break-ins at houses near Kukkikatte under Udupi city police limits around 1 am on Wednesday. The incident was captured on CCTV, sparking concern among residents.

The three-member gang first entered the house of Vittal Poojary at Subrahmanya Nagar near Muchhalagodu, rummaging through the belongings in search of valuables. However, as they found nothing, they left the place.

Later, when they tried to break into another nearby house, the residents woke up and switched on the lights, forcing the burglars to flee. CCTV footage also shows the gang walking along the street, seemingly identifying houses to target.
