Udupi: Man abducted; robbed of Rs one lakh cash

Udupi, June 22, 2024: A man was abducted and a cash of Rs 1 lakh which was in his possession was looted by assailants near the Udupi service bus stand on June 20.

Mohammad Nihal of Athrady was on the way to a bakery near the bus stand. He also had the bus collection amount with him that day. Just as he was nearing the bakery, two men who came by a car abducted him and later threatened him at knife point, abused him and escaped with his cash.

Two of the accused have been identified as Shariq and Irfan. A complaint has been lodged at Udupi town police station.
