Udupi: MLA Yashpal Suvarna’s WhatsApp account hacked; public warned against money requests

Udupi, Dec 31, 2025: The WhatsApp account of Udupi Assembly constituency MLA Yashpal Anand Suvarna has been hacked, and cybercriminals are using it to send messages to his contacts requesting money.

The miscreants allegedly gained unauthorized access to the MLA’s WhatsApp account and sent messages to people in his contact list, seeking financial assistance. In some messages, the fraudsters claimed they urgently needed help and later asked recipients to transfer money.

The MLA became aware of the incident soon after the account was compromised and immediately warned his friends and associates to remain alert.

The MLA’s office has also issued a public notice stating that several people have received messages from the hacked number asking them to send money via Google Pay. The public has been urged not to transfer any money or respond to such messages.
