Udupi Lokayukta nabs revenue inspector who took bribe

Udupi, March 7, 2012 : The Udupi Lokayukta police arrested Trivikdram Adiga, the revenue inspector of Ajekar, on March 5 Tuesday after conducting a raid to investigate a complaint lodged by Chandrashekar Nayak.

Mr. Nayak had submitted a land-related application and had tried to find out about its status in the VA’s office in Hermunde. It turned out that his file was referred to the Nada Kacheri in Marne Revenue Division. However, when Mr. Nayak approached Trivikram Adiga, the revenue inspector, he demanded Rs. 2,000 to clear his file.

Mr. Nayak, therefore, lodged a complaint at the Lokayukta, who set a trap for Adiga and nabbed him in the act of receiving bribe. Mr. Adiga has been produced in a Udupi sessions court.
