Udupi: Jewelry workshop burgled; gold worth lakhs stolen

Udupi, Sep 9, 2025: Burglars broke into a jewelry workshop near Chittaranjan Circle in Udupi city late Monday night (Sep 8), making off with gold ornaments worth several lakh rupees.

 

 

The theft occurred at Vaibhav Refiner, a gold and silver melting shop near Chittaranjan Circle. The culprits used a duplicate key to gain entry and opened drawers using fake locks, stealing around 600 grams of gold bars, gold liquid, and other valuable items.

Police suspect the involvement of a former employee of the shop in the crime.

Udupi DYSP Prabhu D.T and City Police Inspector Manjunath visited the scene to conduct an inspection. Further investigation is underway.
